The unique challenges to designing this room was that it had 10 walls and NO windows! The approach was to create almost a theatrical environment, where the viewer would walk in and feel as if he were transformed somewhere else, in this case, to Tuscany!

The walls were faux painted using stone dust materials, to look like rock and crumbling plaster, like old world Italy. The three angled walls has murals on canvas installed like wallpaper, and scribed around the stone as if the viewer is looking outside at the vineyard. The ceiling was also painted with faux beams and clouds to complete the ‘outdoor’ experience, transitioning to ‘indoor’. Furnishing included a seating area for food and wine tasting, and separate seating area for cigar smoking and the accompanying glass of wine. Special original artwork on canvas from my Mom, Terry Gubitose, graced the walls for the final perfect touch.

A visitor wrote in the guestbook: “It is so warm, it feels like family, I think you have captured something special.”
