The common element throughout is good design. There’s always a reason why an element is chosen for a certain place, whether it’s a colorful painting in a room or a specific fabric on a chair. There’s also a functionality to every item that is unique to each project’s solution. It’s sort of like an oversized jigsaw puzzle with a place and reason for each piece.

OUR APPROACH

We begin with discussing the vision you have for your home. Whether it’s a new build or full-gut whole house renovation, we are there from the beginning, hearing your thoughts and desires for your future living space. We assemble a team of allied professionals that will include architects, engineers, builders, and trades people that align with your project scope. We then walk with you through all the budgeting, designing, permitting and building to prepare for the interior design move in details. There are a lot of decisions to make, but we are there all along the way to help you.

Denise Wenacur, Principal

Principal, Lead Interior Designer

Meet Denise Wenacur, allied ASID, assoc. IIDA, an Interior Designer with over 30 years of experience in the Design field. As the principal of DW Design & Décor LLC, Denise and TeamDW are dedicated to her mission of creating spaces that authentically reflect their clients’ identities with the guidance of her skilled team. WBE and DBE certified, Denise ensures inclusive and diverse design solutions.

The client’s involvement is paramount in Denise’s approach, ensuring that they feel heard throughout the entire decision-making process. The end result is a space that clients not only love but also find easy to transition into.

Denise’s expertise extends to publications in many renowned books and magazines, including Westchester Home, American Artist, Design Bureau, Home Accents Today, and Designers Today. She holds a BA degree in Art, is a graduate of the New York School of Interior Design, and is also a certified Construction Project Manager from Pace University. With her wealth of knowledge and commitment to client satisfaction, Denise Wenacur brings a unique touch to every project.

Polly Teitel

Project Manager

Polly channeled her creative talents towards a degree in Theatre and Fashion Design from FIT. This led her into the Retail market where she was a buyer and also a sales associate for Saks Fifth Ave in Greenwich Ct. Her love for Interiors formed when she and her husband bought a beautiful farmhouse built in 1842 with wonderful architectural details. She realized that she loved the business of Interior Design and all of the details associated with process. “Since 2014 I have enjoyed working behind the scenes at DW Design & Décor to handle the many project details by connecting with clients, manufacturers, artisans and installers. It takes so many people to bring the creative ideas to life for our clients. The best part is seeing the transformation photos of someone’s home as a result of our great teamwork!”

Wendy Casale-Lewis

Interior Designer

Wendy is an Interior Designer who creates unique and refreshing designs, aiming to bring harmony, balance, and timeless elements into her work. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and an AAS in Interior Design from the New York School of Interior Design.

With over 25 years of experience in designing and managing construction projects, Wendy considers a site’s full environmental context to ensure it aligns with the client’s personality. Using computer-aided design software Wendy makes these ideas come alive for clients to view. She collaborates with contractors, engineers, and public agencies to meet timeline and budget constraints.

Having lived abroad, Wendy understands different cultures and infuses those values into her projects. She finds inspiration everywhere, particularly in raw and natural beauty. A good listener, Wendy also enjoys playing the flute, reading, and spending time outdoors in her free time.

Kimberly Merlitti

Chief Financial Officer

Kimberly brings 20 years of experience having worked in accounting for companies such as Swinerton Builders, WRNS Studio and Martin Group. Kimberly has primarily worked in the design field with a main focus on small interior design, construction and architectural firms. She uses her extensive experience to educate businesses about accounting, cash flow management, tax deductions, project reporting, and business management. Kimberly holds a Masters Degree in Accounting from Golden Gate University.

Ellen Pozit

Bookkeeper

Ellen has been in business for herself since she and her husband opened their first of several restaurants many years ago. As the need arose in her business for a hands-on approach, she became proficient in Quickbooks. When she sold her last restaurant, she used that knowledge to create a bookkeeping/consulting service that has grown over the years to include a variety of businesses. She enjoys the diversity and the personal contact with her clients.
