Lakehouse Retreat — Greenwood Lake, NY

This cherished family lakehouse has been in the same family since the 1970s, evolving over time from a modest fishing cottage into a beloved multi-generational getaway. With incredible lake views as the backdrop, our team was brought in for a full design-build renovation to modernize the home while honoring its history.

To open up the main living space, we removed a structural wall in the center of the living room, allowing for uninterrupted sightlines to the water. We streamlined the oversized fireplace, reducing its depth to sit flush with the wall—creating more usable living space. In the kitchen, we raised the ceiling, reconfigured windows, and designed custom cabinetry for a bright, functional layout that supports everything from family meals to summer entertaining.

The step-down sunroom has become the heart of the home—perfect for sunsets, board games, and relaxed evenings. Custom furnishings and layered lighting make this all-season retreat both inviting and comfortable. A special touch: under the stairs, we created a custom built-in for the homeowner’s private-label wine—ideal for storage, display, and tasting.

This lakehouse is now ready for the next 50 years of family memories, fun, and celebration.
