Its Throw Back Thursday!

Hard to believe 12 years ago today was the opening Gala for the Designer Showhouse of Westchester to benefit the Cerebral Palsy of Westchester chapter. It was considered a very successful event and one that I considered a milestone in my career. I made lasting industry connections, met new clients and got lots of wonderful press. DW Design & Decor LLC was a proud participant in the Designer Showhouse of Westchester 2009 to benefit Cerebral Palsy of Westchester. 5,000 visitors toured the 17,000 square foot estate during the five weeks that it was open to the public. She was awarded the ‘Wine Cellar Tasting Room’ to design for the show. Ch 12 did an exclusive interview with Denise Wenacur learning about the unique challenges of designing the space. The common element throughout is good design. There’s always a reason why an element is chosen for a certain place, whether it’s a colorful painting in a room or a specific fabric on a chair. There’s also a functionality to every item that is unique to each project’s solution. It’s sort of like an oversized jigsaw puzzle with a place and reason for each piece.
