We are just back from the big furniture & accessory show in High Point, North Carolina. What a fantastic event! I feel so inspired and it was the perfect mix of fun and work. I came back with some great ideas and solutions for my many client projects.

Being on an AI (Artificial Intelligence) Panel Discussion on Saturday proved to be an excellent sharing and brainstorming session to a large group at the Fairfield Showroom. It was a pleasure to be joined by TV Host Breegan Jane,  Interior Designer Antonio Deloatch and moderator/eDesign Educator Jenna Gaidusek. It was so interesting to discuss how AI is being integrated and helping us be more proficient in the Design-Build industry.

Another highlight was meeting the Broadway Star (from original play ‘Kinky Boots’), Billy Porter at the WithIt Breakfast, which focused on the topic of Woman Owned Businesses. Who knew that Billy was also a Design enthusiast?

And of course, we were TrendSpotting. Here are a few takeaways that caught my eye:

  • Full Wall Headboards
  • Herringbone patterns
  • Basket Weave patterns
  • Fluting on many types of furniture

Our FULL REPORT on the High Point Furniture Market will be out shortly.

The common element throughout is good design. There’s always a reason why an element is chosen for a certain place, whether it’s a colorful painting in a room or a specific fabric on a chair. There’s also a functionality to every item that is unique to each project’s solution. It’s sort of like an oversized jigsaw puzzle with a place and reason for each piece.

“Your rooms are like a painting. Each component is a brushstroke to create the whole picture. It’s magic every time!”
