Going to Market in High Point NC never disappoints! This year we were able to discover rugs made from Recycled PET Yarn. PET yarn is created from plastic bottles and 100% sustainable. PET yarn has excellent performance attributes as it is stain and weather resistant. So we say it is ‘LIVABLE LUXURY’ approved!

In addition to noticing our own furniture embellishment trends such as buckles, belts decorative straps, and the ‘wave arm’ often wrapping wood, we attended our favorite TrendWatch seminar.

This Spring, Julie Smith Vincenti of Nine Muses Media broke the trends into 3 Categories: Confection, Immersion and Studio

CONFECTIONS is a sweet shop of satisfying neutrals, adding delicious accent colors colors like cherry red -cast pinks and purples.

IMMERSION is the energetic pallet of kaleidoscopic animation, bright colors, asymmetrical patterns and luster finishes.

STUDIO features denim blues, casual neutrals, is comfortable, youthful with some bright hand-crafted accessories to add charm.

We spotted some great sectional options in lots of shapes and configurations and round textured coffee tables made from natural woods in fun patterns.

I loved several showrooms with white brick walls that layered walls with bright artwork and distressed accessories.

And of course, a trip to Market would not be complete without spending time with the many talented designers, artists, and industry superstars that influence our industry as part of the WITHIT group. One of the highlights being the grand opening event of the Home Furnishings Hall of Fame.

Can’t wait to see what Fall Market in October has for us!

The common element throughout is good design. There’s always a reason why an element is chosen for a certain place, whether it’s a colorful painting in a room or a specific fabric on a chair. There’s also a functionality to every item that is unique to each project’s solution. It’s sort of like an oversized jigsaw puzzle with a place and reason for each piece.

“Your rooms are like a painting. Each component is a brushstroke to create the whole picture. It’s magic every time!”
