Stunning Primary Bath Renovation

A primary bath in Croton-on-Hudson, NY has gone from out-of-date to a calm, serene refuge. Clever design ideas along with updated features and materials changed the entire footprint. Everything needed to be replaced and there was a much better way to use the space. The new design has completely improved this bathroom.

Before:

Altering the Layout

Before anything was moved, the first problem was to fix the different ceiling and floor levels. Once that was done, the layout and redesign were addressed. A window on the left side (underneath a skylight) was removed along with a massive dated tub and tiny shower. In its place is a beautiful, big shower and custom double vanity. A new linen closet and toilet are now located where the old shower was, which makes more sense because that area has a lower ceiling line.

In Process:

A New Modern Look & Feel

The redesign, tub, shower, and hardware have given the space a new life. We chose calm colors and materials, including an organic looking ceiling fixture. Other upgrades include a towel warmer and a taller backsplash behind the vanity that matches the countertop .The bath now has a spa-like feel and the client, happily cannot wait to take a shower or bath!

The common element throughout is good design. There’s always a reason why an element is chosen for a certain place, whether it’s a colorful painting in a room or a specific fabric on a chair. There’s also a functionality to every item that is unique to each project’s solution. It’s sort of like an oversized jigsaw puzzle with a place and reason for each piece.

“Your rooms are like a painting. Each component is a brushstroke to create the whole picture. It’s magic every time!”
