To enhance the height of the tall beautiful ceilings in the room, panels were created in striped fabric and installed close to the ceiling. The ceiling had been faux painted to shimmer and show off the architectural details and trim work. The most perfect chandelier was found in a NYC showroom….subtle and elegant. The rounded windows were given soft sheers attached to custom curved hardware, and then gathered at the bottom as a roman shade. The slight diffusion of natural light finished off the windows giving it a romantic glow.

The family room had a wonderful fireplace, but deep unfinished voids on either side made the room look incomplete. Custom bookcases were designed and built in place taking special care to incorporate the windows above, and make them part of the design. Whimsical accessories were hand chosen from various resources, to finish off this beautiful area, adding, yes, drama to this room too!

A favorite sofa was given a big makeover by our fantastic upholsterer. Squaring off the arms and removing the skirt to create a tight upholstered frame, turned it into a brand new piece! The soft velvet fabric with oversized pillows in a contrasting fabric completed its makeover.  VIEW ALL AFTER PHOTOS

The common element throughout is good design. There’s always a reason why an element is chosen for a certain place, whether it’s a colorful painting in a room or a specific fabric on a chair. There’s also a functionality to every item that is unique to each project’s solution. It’s sort of like an oversized jigsaw puzzle with a place and reason for each piece.

“Your rooms are like a painting. Each component is a brushstroke to create the whole picture. It’s magic every time!”
