The views from the Vessel in NYC are AMAZING! My friend and I visited the other day and could not believe that this structure gave us a new point of view on this part of the city. Standing in the inside of the Vessel felt like being in the center of a spaceship. People walking thru the honeycomb-like stairways at different levels and heights was very surreal. While exiting I found a very stylish dog that could have been my twin!

“The extraordinary centerpiece of Hudson Yards is its spiral staircase, a soaring new landmark meant to be climbed. This interactive artwork was imagined by Thomas Heatherwick and Heatherwick Studio as a focal point where people can enjoy new perspectives of the city and one another from different heights, angles and vantage points.

Comprised of 154 intricately interconnecting flights of stairs — almost 2,500 individual steps and 80 landings — the vertical climb offers remarkable views of the city, the river and beyond.” More info and tickets

The common element throughout is good design. There’s always a reason why an element is chosen for a certain place, whether it’s a colorful painting in a room or a specific fabric on a chair. There’s also a functionality to every item that is unique to each project’s solution. It’s sort of like an oversized jigsaw puzzle with a place and reason for each piece.

“Your rooms are like a painting. Each component is a brushstroke to create the whole picture. It’s magic every time!”
