Fall Market at High Point North Carolina was amazing this year! And what we saw was GREEN! Forest Green accent furniture, fabric and wall paint was everywhere. The ‘go to’ metal was still a matte GOLD on everything from lighting fixtures to coffee tables to chair frames.  Coffee tables that looked like puzzle pieces were popular in that they could be moved around as needed. Tribal artwork for wall decor and accessories also complimented many of the showroom spaces. Embellishment and trim was seen everywhere to customize individual taste and style. Jana Platina Phipps, aka Trim Queen, gave a wonderful presentation on the history of passementerie and how to incorporate it into modern day decor. The common element throughout is good design. There’s always a reason why an element is chosen for a certain place, whether it’s a colorful painting in a room or a specific fabric on a chair. There’s also a functionality to every item that is unique to each project’s solution. It’s sort of like an oversized jigsaw puzzle with a place and reason for each piece.
