Sharon Stafford“I discovered a love for metalwork in high school and a love for crochet even earlier. Decades later, in a class called ‘Woven Metal Techniques’, they were suddenly both back in my life.”  Using weaving/fiber techniques in metal brings a wonderful sense of discovery – the nature of metal seems to change when woven and the nature of a traditional fiber technique can have a very different appearance when done with metal.  The elements of form, volume, structure, tactile qualities, and visual texture are all there in endlessly surprising ways.”

The common element throughout is good design. There’s always a reason why an element is chosen for a certain place, whether it’s a colorful painting in a room or a specific fabric on a chair. There’s also a functionality to every item that is unique to each project’s solution. It’s sort of like an oversized jigsaw puzzle with a place and reason for each piece.
