The New York Build 2020 show at the Javitz Ctr in NYC gathered contractors, developers, architects, designers, suppliers and other industry professionals at one big trade show event. It created an excellent venue to share ideas and information about the latest trends and best practices through presentations, seminars, demonstrations and one on one Q & A opportunities.

I found some of the speakers fascinating as one architect described his solution for creating huts that catch usable rainwater in Africa and another architect explained his plans to design an entire city in Asia!

There were also some fun photo opportunities. Can you tell if we are really hanging in mid air ‘having lunch?’

The common element throughout is good design. There’s always a reason why an element is chosen for a certain place, whether it’s a colorful painting in a room or a specific fabric on a chair. There’s also a functionality to every item that is unique to each project’s solution. It’s sort of like an oversized jigsaw puzzle with a place and reason for each piece.
