Piano Room Refresh Project

Its hard to make updates to a home that you have lived in all of your life. But this couple is ready!

The husband grew up in this house in Westchester and great memories fill these dark paneled walls. The memories will last forever but its time to remove that old paneling! At first, the thought was to donate the piano that was in the family for years as the mom was a music teacher, but at the last minute the couple realized they were still attached to it. No problem, just a revision to our digital floorplans to accommodate!

Now we are ready to present 3 different design options, based on color themes and darker wall colors preferred by the homeowners. Option 1 is more of a teal color story with textural fabrics and soft to the touch materials. Still with a nod to the traditional style they feel most comfortable with, as seen in the BEFORE photos below. Option 2 is more of a blue and yellow color story with some fun printed textiles for pillows, and a soft cream colored chenille for the sofa reupholstery. Option 3  is a glue-green, gold and orange color palette, based on a beautiful printed Thibaut fabric.

Which one do you think they will pick?

We will let you know soon!

The common element throughout is good design. There’s always a reason why an element is chosen for a certain place, whether it’s a colorful painting in a room or a specific fabric on a chair. There’s also a functionality to every item that is unique to each project’s solution. It’s sort of like an oversized jigsaw puzzle with a place and reason for each piece.

“Your rooms are like a painting. Each component is a brushstroke to create the whole picture. It’s magic every time!”
